HAPPY MOONCAKE FESTIVAL.
Some people calls it MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL.
This is not my first Mooncake Festival, but this is the first time I celebrate Mooncake Festival with customary playing of lattern.
Ah ma bought my first lattern - a butterfly lattern operated by batteries Thank you ah ma.
So, on Saturday night, off I went with the lattern in my hand. You can see me grinning ear to ear.
Then, I met two jie jies who were also playing latterns under the watchful eyes of their parents... just like Daddy and Mummy.
The two jie jies were having traditional latterns, with real candles in them. How envious I was.
But then, true to the saying, the grass is greener on the other side, the younger jie jie said to her parents "Look! Mei mei (that's me) 's lattern has music in it. I also want!".
Hehe...
Wonder what her mother told her? The classic answer, "Never mind, just listen to mei mei's music, can oledi"
We later ventured further down and we met a larger group of people playing latterns. Now, they are more creative. Some used candles only and some other played firecrackers.
Hope you enjoyed your Mooncake Festival, because I certainly did.
