My Penang trip - Kek Lok Si

.
Our third day in Penang was spent mostly at the famous Kek Lok Si temple.

Since we arrived at the Kek Lok Si late morning, we thought that an early lunch would be the best way to start the day. So, we went to this vegetarian restaurant at Kek Lok Si. It was a nice change, given that we have had lots of sinful indulgence of nice but unhealthy Penang food.

We took a lunch set and this time, we remembered to take pictures of them... Here goes..

"FISH"

Tofu and mushroom

Dunno-what veg.

"Pork"

Soup

After we filled our stomachs, we began to explore Kek Lok Si.

One structure you should not and will not miss is the famous gigantic bronze Kuan Yin statue.

Ah ma put in some donation on behalf of Ah Kong and have had his name (& family) written onto the roof tile, which will be elevated to roof of a temple building.

We also spotted all twelve Chinese Zodiac Animal statues, so we took our picture with our respective zodiac animal.
Ah Ma with the Tiger,

Ah Chek with the Goat

Gu gu with the Cow (looks more like a buffalo)

Daddy with the Dragon

Mummy with the Horse

and I with the "BABE"
Since Ah Kong was not around, I represent him with the Rat

And here are the some other photos taken at the Kek Lok Si, which has some nice architectural designs, including its famous pagoda.

When we were done with Kek Lok Si, we went to another famous temple, with a reclining Buddha statue. Unfortunately, I was too tired and fell asleep.
