Look, I am walking!

.

Look everybody, I am walking! I even try to run at one stage.

No doubt that my new ability has made Daddy and Mummy feeling excited and sensing that this is their weakness, I extort them for my first pair of shoes. Needless to say, in no time, the shoes just appear! Ta..da...

Nice! This is also my first birthday present

I immediately put my new shoes to use when we visited Singapore Botanics Garden today, together with wai gong, wai po, yi ma, yi zhang and Jack ko ko.

Picture below: Mummy and me in almost identical hats

Ever since I found my new skill, I hardly want people to carry me.

Sorry people, you are no longer as useful as before! hehe....

Throwing things over the bar

.
After reading my blog on "Touching Daddy's nerves", most of you would think that I like to throw things out of my playpen.

I can't blame you, especially after I was caught throwing virtually everything out from my playpen as shown in the picture below.

But actually hor, it's not that I like to throw things out. Recently Mummy and Daddy found that I actually just like to throw things over the bar of the playpen.
Isn't it the same, you may ask. What's the difference?!
Of course NOT the same. Watch this and you will see the difference!

The art of climbing down

.
Climbing up is easy but climbing down requires totally different skills. Remember my first climb? Then I could only climb up and when I wanted to go down, I just yelled for help. Yup, pretty much like kittens. They only know how to climb up but have trouble climbing down.

But now, I am proud to say that I can now freely climb up and down the chair

Occasionally, I climb down the wrong side of the chair and get stuck like this.

If you think that's an accomplishment, wait till you see this!... climbing down from the bed which is much higher.

My growth progress

.
Today, I am exactly 11 months old. Lets see my growth progress once again.

Today, I am 74.5 cm tall. You would wonder how come the accuracy of the height is up to 0.5 mm. Well, nothing to do with accuracy. Daddy has been trying to measure my height but given my hyper-active movement, the task is near impossible. Sometimes he measures 74 cm and sometimes 75 cm. So, living up to his name as Philosophical Daddy, he takes the reading as 74.5 cm.

According to the chart, I am now at the 75 th percentile.

The measurement of my weight is rather surprising. It stays flat at 9.0 kg. Perhaps that's because the measurement was taken right after I recovered from my fever. I haven't had good appetite the last few days. Whatever it is, this reading categorises me as average (50th percentile) baby in term of weight.

Begin to understand how simple things work

.

At the age of about 10 months old, I begin to understand simple words and understand how simple things work.

I know how to clap my hands when Daddy and Mummy say "pai pai sou".
I know how to raise my hands when Daddy and Mummy say hooray.
I know how to shake my head when Daddy and Mummy say no-no.

But of course, I only did those depending on my mood. Daddy has been trying to capture those moments but without much success. Somehow, he managed to capture the moment when I reacted to his calling for hooray.

Besides, I understand the function of a pen is to write. Although I am unable to write something meaningful, I know how to place the pen onto the board and do a few strokes.

When I get hold of TV remote control, I will point it to the TV.

Likewise, when I get hold of air-con remote control, I will point it to the aircon, and sometimes to the ceiling fan.

There are so many things to learn!!

Riding and manoeuvring car

.

This weekend, we went back to Malacca to see both grandparents. In maternal grandparents' house, I spotted a car that belongs to Jack Ko Ko.

I test-drove it. Look at me at the wheel!
